The Most Expensive Houses for Sale in London

London has one of the hottest property markets in the world and alongside cities such as London and Singapore, offers some of the most expensive real estate out there. Despite Covid-19 causing flurries of people to move out into the countryside, there are still plenty of homes for sale in the capital with a price that will make you gasp.

Upper Grosvenor Street, Mayfair, £54 Million

I’m not sure who exactly has a spare £54 million lying around, but it must be someone, because that’s what this grand London home is currently going for. Located in Mayfair, London’s most exclusive neighbourhood, this property boasts 12 bedrooms, a roof terrace and private parking.

Constructed in the 1700s, this Grade II listed home offers an abundance of character, the house has been restored, respecting its history whilst blending in modern facilities. The dining room on the ground floor sits up to 20 guests so dinner parties are a must! The master bedroom occupies the entire 2nd floor and has its own private roof terrace.

Furthermore, the property has one of the best private spas in Mayfair and one of the largest swimming pool in the vicinity alongside a fitness studio, spa pool and sauna.

St Saviours, Knightsbridge, £44 Million

My favourite house on the list, St Saviours is a Grade II listed converted church with 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, a swimming pool and 5 reception rooms. The house is oozing in character with its incredible vaulted ceilings and original stone pillars, spreading across 12,102 sq ft.

The grandiose drawing room has a 12-metre vaulted ceiling and oak beams, providing a spectacular entertainment space. There is an entire floor put aside just for leisure purposes that features a swimming pool gym, treatment room, sauna, steam room and media room with bar.

Merton Lane, Highgate, £40 million

This contemporary mansion in Highgate is located on a popular road  and occupies 2 acres of land, a big plot by London standards. The accommodation spreads over 3 floors and even includes a substantial staff lodge!

The property will blow you away as soon as you step through the front door, with a glass lift located in the entrance hall so you don’t even have to climb the stairs on days you are feeling too tired. The sitting room and finding room overlook the grounds and lead into the breakfast room and kitchen.

The master suite is located on the first floor with a stunning en suite bathroom, the are four further suites on the sam floor whilst the top floor is home to an office with panoramic garden views and even views over to Hampstead Heath.

Of course the house rivals the previous two with its own swimming pool which opens into the garden and also offers full spa facilities and a home gym and billiards room!

Ilchester Place, Holland Park, £32 Million

With neighbours like Simon Cowell it’s no wonder these people can afford such a home. So what will £32 million get you here? The extensive 7 bedroom, 7 bathroom property is located on a street known for its grand homes and imposing terraces. Immediately alongside the very bautiful Holland Park, No.5 Ilchester Place has been totally rebuilt and extended whilst retaining its original facade.

The redesign gives a sensitive nod to its classical heritage, like many of the neo-Georgian arhitecture of Holland Park, but combines a very contemporary interior with market-leading design and technology.

The formal reception room is drowned in natural light thanks to the 3m floor to ceiling windows, and also gives direct access to the landscaped gardens and terrace. the dining room also offers picturesque views over the gardens and also contains a dramatic Arabescato marble fireplace in a room that can comfortably fit 12 dinner guests.

St Johns Wood Park, St Johns Wood, £32 Million

This imposing detached house has been blessed with its own discreet driveway which offers parking space for up to 10 cars! The extensive accommodation and space is a brilliant place for any family to grow, benefiting from ample entertainment space, an indulgent master bedroom suite, lift and large south facing garden.

A large family can easily live inside this home thanks to its 8 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and 3 reception rooms.

Upper Phillimore Gardens, Kensington, £29 Million

Located in a very attractive part of London, Upper Phillimore Gardens often adorns our screens thanks to its autumnal leaves and spring blossoms, but most people have no idea the cost of these homes. On sale for a whopping £29 million, this 10 bedroom property boasts some of the most luxurious finishings out there.

The elegant drawing room is characterised with an eye-catching bay window and french doors whilst the kitchen offers a more relaxed living environment with huge south-facing windows allowing the room to flood with light.

Culross Street, Mayfair, £29 Million

Brand new, this Mayfair mansion sprawls across 8,060 sq ft of very alluring space. Finished to a very high standard with sophisticated, luxury interiors, the house has an array of entertainment spaces and even its own health and fitness facilities.

The marble floors throughout the house add an opulent feel, the 30 inch reception room features bespoke flooring and offers space for up to 12 guests, leading straight out into the gardens. The home has not one, but two, principal bedrooms dressed in the finest fabrics with fully fitted dressing rooms and marble finished bathrooms.

The top floor contains three more bedrooms and the ground floor is home to an elegant kitchen with a seating area below a large skylight. To top it all off is the cinema room, opulent bar and of course, a swimming pool.
