Relaxing in the City: A List of Rooftop Pools in London
Summer in London keeps getting better, and despite the stereotype of rain, the city has been enjoying sunshine galore. Swap the sticky tube for a rooftop pool, there are several hotels and private clubs in London that offer the opportunity for some outdoor bathing. Below is a list of some of my favourite rooftop pools in London.
The Berkeley
Home to one of the newest rooftop pools in London, the Berkeley is one of the best places to relax in.
Nestled between Hyde Park and the glitz and glamour of Knightsbridge, this hotel is one of London’s top places to stay. Its original rooftop pool was built in the 70s, making it the first in London, so it’s only right to be included on a list of London’s best.
The pool is only open to hotel guests, you can make your booking here.

The Ned
One of the best places to spend a summer’s afternoon, the Ned offers a rooftop space for members and hotel guests with a heated pool, restaurant, and outdoor terraces for eating and drinking.
Admire views of St Paul’s Cathedral as you sip a drink poolside. Located in the heart of the City, the Ned was the former Midland Bank headquarters and is now home to a number of gorgeous bars, restaurants, and hotel rooms.
The heated rooftop pool is a relaxing space to swim, whilst the terrace is equipped with loungers, cabanas, and a bar.
The pool is open to members and hotel guests, you can book your stay here.
art’otel London, Battersea Power Station
Battersea Power Station was one of the most hyped new London openings in 2022 thanks to its iconic location.
Home to a heated infinity rooftop pool and Jacuzzi, guests of the hotel can enjoy panoramic 360 views over London. The pool is 16 floors up and open all year round.

Mondrian Shoreditch
It’s not the biggest pool in the world but it’s a nice feature in this city hotel. Giving you a slice of Miami in London, the pool at Mondrian Shoreditch is open to guests until midday, afterthis the pool is reserved for Curtain Club members only (yes, a little strange I will give you that).
Also on the Mondrian’s rooftop is Laurel’s, a 1970s inspired restaurant, designed to emulate a venue you might find in LA. The mood shifts throughout the day, with a chilled out, intimate vibe with escapism at its core.
Shangri-La at the Shard
Okay, this one isn’t open air, but it is higher than any other rooftop pool in London! 52 stories high, it is officially the highest pool in Western Europe, and commands incredible views of London.
To keep the pool peaceful, guests are required to book in a time slot to use the pool, this is at no cost. A slot time can be requested during your stay at the hotel or can be pre-booked before you arrive.
