Hotel Review: Escape to the Country at Lucknam Park
Nestled in the rolling green hills of the Cotswolds, Lucknam Park is a breathtaking country house with a fascinating history. Surrounded by 500 acres of pristine parkland, you would be forgiven for thinking you have arrived at some sort of royal residence.
Just 10 minutes from ‘the most beautiful village in England’, Castle Combe, Lucknam Park Hotel isa destination in itself. This luxury dog-friendly hotel offers several dining establishments, an incredible five-star spa with a heated indoor pool, beautiful guest rooms, and some seriously grand lounges.
It was a little grey and rainy when I arrived, but it just added to the atmosphere; it is the west of England, after all! But alas, the rain was no issue, it just made my stay all the more cosy.
Baxter was the first to be greeted upon arrival, exactly how I like it. Nothing beats someone cooing over the dog you are so proud of! We were taken to our dog-friendly room, which included dog bowls, treats, a toy, doggy blankets, a cosy bed, and even poo bags. Additionally, Lucknam Park boasts extensive grounds and beautiful countryside surroundings, providing ample space for walks and outdoor activities with your dog.
Our suite was incredibly spacious, with a four-poster bed, living area, a workstation, and a fully equipped bathroom with a shower and bath. Many of the suites at Lucknam Park boast stunning views of the surrounding countryside or the beautiful gardens, allowing guests to soak in the serene and picturesque landscapes from the comfort of their rooms.
Lucknam Park is renowned for its exceptional culinary efforts, commitment to quality and innovation, and celebration of locally sourced ingredients.
There are just three Michelin Star restaurants in Wiltshire, one being Restaurant Hywel Jones by Lucknam Park. Here, guests can enjoy an exquisite fine dining experience with seasonally inspired menus crafted by Executive Chef Hywel Jones.
I dined at the dog-friendly Brasserie, offering a more casual and relaxed ambience. The Brasserie offers all-day dining options, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I enjoyed a delicious pizza with fig, honey and Prosciutto ham.
Lucknam Park's award-winning spa is one of the hotel's finest assets. Guests are invited to unwind and rejuvenate in a serene sanctuary with a range of treatments, an indoor pool, and an outdoor heated hydrotherapy pool.
The spa at Lucknam Park has a brand partnership with 111SKIN, founded and curated by renowned cosmetic surgeon Dr. Yannis Alexandrides. Guests can choose from non-surgical facelifts, healing facials, energising body treatments, and so much more.
Lucknam Park welcomes guests with an ambience steeped in sophistication. Its regal facade and lush gardens set the stage for an unforgettable retreat. The interiors exude timeless elegance, blending classic charm with modern comforts.
