13 ‘snowy’ mobile presets compatible with the Lightroom CC app. My RAW images were coming out very blue and a little bit dreary, these presets have been put together to brighten the images and create a softer, less harsh ambience. The names and presets have been based on my journey down the A1 starting from Cambridgeshire, ending up in Hertfordshire, and stopping at some of my favourite villages along the way.
Each preset has been created based on photos taken on my Sony A7Rii camera. It is important to note that each camera whether it be a Sony, Nikon, Canon, iPhone etc will all produce different images with different colour balances, the lighting conditions are also always changing and my aperture and iso settings may be different to yours. Because of this, presets can look different on each photo. To save creating hundreds of presets based on hundreds of different lighting scenarios, it is easier to create 14, these can then be tweaked using the sliders on your Lightroom settings.
Tip: It is likely that the exposure, in particular, will be different for each photo. Don’t panic if you apply a preset and it seems over or underexposed, just adjust your exposure up or down and this should solve the problem. Feel free to contact me on hannah@instabritain if you need any help.
How to install: Upon payment, you will receive a download link on the order confirmation page. Click the download link and you will receive a zip file. Most mobiles cannot open zip files, please download the iZip app which will allow you to open up the zip file and then import into Lightroom CC.
Alternatively, your confirmation email will show a link to Dropbox which is easier to use. You can open the link in the Dropbox app or your browser and you will see 9 DNG files. Each file is named with the preset.
When downloading from the Dropbox web page in your browser, you will be given the option to ‘open in Lightroom CC’, simply click this and the file will be imported. Each file is imported as an image that contains the preset. In order to save the presets, open the image and click the three dots in the top left-hand corner (on Lightroom), click ‘create preset’ and save the preset either with the original file name or your own choice. Once these presets are saved they are ready to use!
